It's not always coconut.

Sometimes yes...it can be made from coconut oil but can also be made from palm oil which is more rain forest destructive or from petroleum. Since Lush makes it I think they wold choose the most eco-friendly way which would make it coconut but that's only my guess...I don't know for sure.
